Research cycle phases

Units and volumes recompute from your Step 1 concentration (2 mL BAC → 2.50 mg/mL · 25.0 mcg/unit). Doses below are once daily during the course — not weekly.

Standard course

Secondary educational tables commonly discuss ~100–200 mcg once daily (sometimes starting ~50–125 mcg; upper community charts up to ~400 mcg) for a few weeks, then washout. Systemic LL-37 can be proinflammatory — not a casual recovery peptide.

LL-37 5 mg vials

1 vial

~3.15 mg mg total peptide over this 28-day course at 100 mcg → 125 mcg per injection (phase ladder). Each vial holds 5 mg.

Bacteriostatic water

1 × 3 mL bottle

2 mL BAC per vial × 1 vial = 2.0 mL total. Buy as 1× 3 mL bottle or 1× 10 mL bottle (whichever you stock).

U-100 insulin syringes (100-unit)

28+ syringes

About one 100-unit syringe per injection for this schedule. Keep a few spares.

Alcohol swabs & sharps

~58 swabs · 1 sharps container

Wipe vial stopper and injection site each time. Dispose needles in a proper sharps container.

Reconstitution steps

  1. Allow the lyophilized 5 mg LL-37 vial and bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature.
  2. Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water (default for this guide).
  3. Inject BAC slowly down the inner wall of the vial — avoid blasting the powder cake.
  4. Gently swirl or roll until the solution is clear. Do not shake hard (foaming).
  5. Label with recon date and concentration (e.g. "2.5 mg/mL — 2 mL BAC").
  6. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F), protected from light. Prefer using a reconstituted multi-dose vial within ~28 days with sterile technique.

Storage

Lyophilized

Keep dry powder cold and dark when possible (−20 °C / −4 °F preferred for long-term research stock).

Reconstituted

Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F). Avoid freeze–thaw of the working solution. Prefer finishing within ~28 days.

  • ·Write recon date and BAC volume on the label.
  • ·Protect from light during storage.
  • ·Discard if cloudy, particulates, or odd odor appear after reconstitution.

Protocol notes

  • ·LL-37 is the active human cathelicidin fragment (hCAP18).
  • ·Calculator: 0.1 mg = 100 mcg; 0.125 mg = 125 mcg.
  • ·Research use only.

Research context & considerations

LL-37 disrupts microbial membranes and modulates innate immune signaling. Systemic experimental use carries inflammation caution themes. Not an approved systemic drug via research vials.

  • ·Can be proinflammatory — site reactions common.
  • ·Not a substitute for medical infection or wound care.
  • ·Not FDA-approved for research-vial systemic use.
  • ·Pregnancy out of scope.
