Defaults match this guide (1 mg + 1 mL BAC). Change water or dose and the unit tables below update automatically.

Step 1

Reconstitution

Peptide amount in the vial and how much bacteriostatic water you add.

Your dose

This guide uses microgram-scale research doses — quick picks are in mcg (100 mcg = 0.1 mg).

Weekly research phases

Units and volumes recompute from your Step 1 concentration (1 mL BAC → 1.00 mg/mL · 10.0 mcg/unit).

Standard titration

Published clinical work used body-weight doses (e.g. 0.02–3 mg/kg single SC). Community educational absolute tables often discuss ~0.25–1 mg per injection.

12-week schedule

ACE-031 1 mg vials

7 vials

~7 mg mg total peptide over this 12-week schedule at 250 mcg → 500 mcg → 1 mg weekly (phase ladder). Each vial holds 1 mg.

Bacteriostatic water

3 × 3 mL or 1 × 10 mL

1 mL BAC per vial × 7 vials = 7.0 mL total. Buy as 3× 3 mL bottles or 1× 10 mL bottle (whichever you stock).

U-100 insulin syringes (100-unit)

12+ syringes

About one 100-unit syringe per injection for this schedule. Keep a few spares.

Alcohol swabs & sharps

~38 swabs · 1 sharps container

Wipe vial stopper and injection site each time. Dispose needles in a proper sharps container.

Reconstitution steps

  1. Allow the lyophilized 1 mg ACE-031 vial and bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature.
  2. Draw 1.0 mL bacteriostatic water (default for this guide).
  3. Inject BAC slowly down the inner wall of the vial — avoid blasting the powder cake.
  4. Gently swirl or roll until the solution is clear. Do not shake hard (foaming).
  5. Label with recon date and concentration (e.g. "1.0 mg/mL — 1 mL BAC").
  6. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F), protected from light. Prefer using a reconstituted multi-dose vial within ~28 days with sterile technique.

Storage

Lyophilized

Keep dry powder cold and dark when possible (−20 °C / −4 °F preferred for long-term research stock).

Reconstituted

Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F). Avoid freeze–thaw of the working solution. Prefer finishing within ~28 days.

  • ·Write recon date and BAC volume on the label.
  • ·Protect from light during storage.
  • ·Discard if cloudy, particulates, or odd odor appear after reconstitution.

Protocol notes

  • ·ACE-031 is a soluble activin type IIB receptor fusion protein studied as a myostatin/activin pathway trap.
  • ·Clinical development was halted over safety concerns — recon math only.
  • ·Research use only.

Research context & considerations

ACE-031 binds myostatin and related TGF-β superfamily ligands. Research-market powders are not approved therapeutics.

  • ·Development stopped partly due to safety signals — high-caution compound.
  • ·Not FDA-approved.
  • ·Pregnancy and pediatric use are outside research-hobby scope.
