Research cycle phases
Units and volumes recompute from your Step 1 concentration (5 mL BAC → 10.00 mg/mL · 100.0 mcg/unit). Doses below are once daily during the course — not weekly.
Standard course
Elamipretide (SS-31) clinical work has used IV infusions (e.g. mg/kg/h over hours) and other parenteral regimens. There is no simple approved SC “wellness” dose. Secondary research-vial tables sometimes discuss multi-milligram SC amounts — treat as recon math only.

SS-31 50 mg vials
1 vial
~15 mg mg total peptide over this 2-day course at 5 mg → 10 mg per injection (phase ladder). Each vial holds 50 mg.
Bacteriostatic water
2 × 3 mL or 1 × 10 mL
5 mL BAC per vial × 1 vial = 5.0 mL total. Buy as 2× 3 mL bottles or 1× 10 mL bottle (whichever you stock).
U-100 insulin syringes (100-unit)
2+ syringes
About one 100-unit syringe per injection for this schedule. Keep a few spares.
Alcohol swabs & sharps
~6 swabs · 1 sharps container
Wipe vial stopper and injection site each time. Dispose needles in a proper sharps container.
Reconstitution steps
- Allow the lyophilized 50 mg SS-31 vial and bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature.
- Draw 5.0 mL bacteriostatic water (default for this guide).
- Inject BAC slowly down the inner wall of the vial — avoid blasting the powder cake.
- Gently swirl or roll until the solution is clear. Do not shake hard (foaming).
- Label with recon date and concentration (e.g. "10.0 mg/mL").
- Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F), protected from light. Prefer using a reconstituted multi-dose vial within ~28 days with sterile technique.
Storage
Lyophilized
Keep dry powder cold and dark when possible (−20 °C / −4 °F preferred for long-term research stock).
Reconstituted
Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F). Avoid freeze–thaw of the working solution. Prefer finishing within ~28 days.
- ·Write recon date and BAC volume on the label.
- ·Protect from light during storage.
- ·Discard if cloudy, particulates, or odd odor appear after reconstitution.
Protocol notes
- ·Also known as elamipretide / Bendavia in clinical development literature.
- ·Not a casual recovery peptide with validated consumer SC charts.
- ·Research use only.
Research context & considerations
SS-31 targets cardiolipin/mitochondrial membranes and has been studied in mitochondrial myopathy and other indications with mixed late-stage results. Research vials are not approved drugs.
- ·Investigational — unknown long-term research-vial safety.
- ·Not FDA-approved as a research-vial consumer product.
- ·Pregnancy out of scope.
