Research cycle phases

Units and volumes recompute from your Step 1 concentration (2 mL BAC → 2.50 mg/mL · 25.0 mcg/unit). Doses below are once daily during the course — not weekly.

Standard course

Secondary educational SC tables most often discuss roughly ~50–200 mcg per injection (sometimes up to ~300 mcg), once or twice daily. Some clinic sheets use ~200 mcg several times weekly. Nasal VIP appears in controversial complex-illness protocols — evidence quality varies. Research vials are not approved VIP drugs.

Bacteriostatic water

2 × 3 mL or 1 × 10 mL

2 mL BAC per vial × 2 vials = 4.0 mL total. Buy as 2× 3 mL bottles or 1× 10 mL bottle (whichever you stock).

U-100 insulin syringes (100-unit)

70+ syringes

About one 100-unit syringe per injection for this schedule. Keep a few spares.

Alcohol swabs & sharps

~144 swabs · 1 sharps container

Wipe vial stopper and injection site each time. Dispose needles in a proper sharps container.

Reconstitution steps

  1. Allow the lyophilized 5 mg VIP vial and bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature.
  2. Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water (default for this guide).
  3. Inject BAC slowly down the inner wall of the vial — avoid blasting the powder cake.
  4. Gently swirl or roll until the solution is clear. Do not shake hard (foaming).
  5. Label with recon date and concentration (e.g. "2.5 mg/mL — 2 mL BAC").
  6. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F), protected from light. Prefer using a reconstituted multi-dose vial within ~28 days with sterile technique.

Storage

Lyophilized

Keep dry powder cold and dark when possible (−20 °C / −4 °F preferred for long-term research stock).

Reconstituted

Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F). Avoid freeze–thaw of the working solution. Prefer finishing within ~28 days.

  • ·Write recon date and BAC volume on the label.
  • ·Protect from light during storage.
  • ·Discard if cloudy, particulates, or odd odor appear after reconstitution.

Protocol notes

  • ·Endogenous neuropeptide: vasodilation, smooth-muscle, secretory, and immune-regulatory roles.
  • ·Calculator: 0.1 mg = 100 mcg.
  • ·Flushing and blood-pressure drops are classic class effects at higher exposures.
  • ·Research use only.

Research context & considerations

VIP is studied in pulmonary, GI, and immune contexts. Specialty clinics have used nasal VIP in complex chronic-illness frameworks with mixed evidence quality. Research powders are not FDA-approved VIP medicines.

  • ·Can lower blood pressure / cause flushing — start low.
  • ·Not a casual “anti-inflammatory lifestyle” peptide without clinical context.
  • ·Not FDA-approved as a research-vial consumer product.
  • ·Pregnancy out of scope.
