Semaglutide 50 mg

Educational recon guide for a 50 mg Semaglutide research vial and once-weekly unit mapping. Research use only — not Ozempic/Wegovy pens.

Defaults match this guide (50 mg + 5 mL BAC). Change water or dose and the unit tables below update automatically.

Step 1

Reconstitution

Peptide amount in the vial and how much bacteriostatic water you add.

Weekly research phases

Units and volumes recompute from your Step 1 concentration (5 mL BAC → 10.00 mg/mL · 100.0 mcg/unit).

Standard titration

Approved chronic weight-management product (Wegovy) titrates 0.25 → 0.5 → 1.0 → 1.7 → 2.4 mg once weekly if tolerated. Diabetes products (Ozempic) commonly use lower weekly ceilings. Research powders are not branded pens.

Semaglutide 50 mg vials

1 vial

~7 mg mg total peptide over this 12-week schedule at 250 mcg → 500 mcg → 1 mg weekly (phase ladder). Each vial holds 50 mg.

Bacteriostatic water

2 × 3 mL or 1 × 10 mL

5 mL BAC per vial × 1 vial = 5.0 mL total. Buy as 2× 3 mL bottles or 1× 10 mL bottle (whichever you stock).

U-100 insulin syringes (100-unit)

12+ syringes

About one 100-unit syringe per injection for this schedule. Keep a few spares.

Alcohol swabs & sharps

~26 swabs · 1 sharps container

Wipe vial stopper and injection site each time. Dispose needles in a proper sharps container.

Reconstitution steps

  1. Allow the lyophilized 50 mg Semaglutide vial and bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature.
  2. Draw 5.0 mL bacteriostatic water (default for this guide).
  3. Inject BAC slowly down the inner wall of the vial — avoid blasting the powder cake.
  4. Gently swirl or roll until the solution is clear. Do not shake hard (foaming).
  5. Label with recon date and concentration (e.g. "10.0 mg/mL").
  6. Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F), protected from light. Prefer using a reconstituted multi-dose vial within ~28 days with sterile technique.

Storage

Lyophilized

Keep dry powder cold and dark when possible (−20 °C / −4 °F preferred for long-term research stock).

Reconstituted

Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (35–46 °F). Avoid freeze–thaw of the working solution. Prefer finishing within ~28 days.

  • ·Write recon date and BAC volume on the label.
  • ·Protect from light during storage.
  • ·Discard if cloudy, particulates, or odd odor appear after reconstitution.

Protocol notes

  • ·Once-weekly GLP-1 agonist — titrate slowly for GI tolerability.
  • ·Research powders ≠ Ozempic/Wegovy pens.
  • ·Research use only.

Research context & considerations

Semaglutide is an approved GLP-1 receptor agonist for T2D and chronic weight management as branded products. Catalog research vials are a separate unregulated channel.

  • ·GI effects common during titration.
  • ·GLP-1-class label cautions apply (gallbladder, pancreatitis discussions, MTC/MEN2 framing on approved products).
  • ·Not FDA-approved as a research-vial consumer product.
  • ·Pregnancy out of scope.
