Selective ghrelin-receptor (GHS-R) agonist that stimulates GH with relatively clean side-effect profile among GHRPs.
How to picture it
The pituitary also has ghrelin receptors that can trigger GH release. Ipamorelin is a selective pager for that receptor — tuned to raise growth hormone with less collateral noise on cortisol, prolactin, and appetite than older GHRPs. Picture a clean GH doorbell: press for a pulse, keep the side departments quieter. That selectivity is why research stacks often pair it with a GHRH analog like CJC — two different keys to the same pituitary GH door.
Research focus & benefits
- Cleaner GH-pulse research vs older GHRPs
- Recovery and body-composition secretagogue interest
- Lower hormonal spillover profile in comparative discussions
- Core partner in CJC + Ipamorelin dual stacks
Benefits describe research interest and pathway rationale — not guaranteed outcomes or medical advice. Research use only.
Overview
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue. Compared with older GHRPs (GHRP-2, GHRP-6, Hexarelin), it is often favored because it tends to raise GH with less impact on cortisol and prolactin. It is the default GHRP partner for CJC-1295 no-DAC in many protocols.
Mechanism
Agonist at the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) on the pituitary and hypothalamus, amplifying GH pulse amplitude, especially when combined with a GHRH analog.
Research uses
- Postoperative ileus research (historical clinical interest)
- GH secretagogue comparison studies
- Body composition research
Research dosing notes
Often injected subcutaneously on an empty stomach, frequently at night with CJC-1295. Multiple daily pulses are sometimes discussed for advanced protocols.
